High Quality Content Writing – It’s Something You Can Write Too! You just need to know how

Writing high-quality content doesn’t necessarily mean you have to use difficult or unusual words. It does not mean that your vocabulary has to be extraordinary. On the contrary, high-quality content writing refers to writing that is engaging and informative. It is one that offers value to the readers, is relevant, and is unique.

Is it too much to expect from a writer?

No, it is not because this is all about content writing. This is what is expected from a content writer.

From my 12 years of content writing experience, I can tell you, any content writer should be able to write high-quality content. Remember, any good piece of content takes time to write. This is why we say that you should never rush your writers because it takes time to create content that is loved by all.

Now, if it is THAT easy, why do content writers struggle with high-quality content?

Now, there are many reasons and we will explore each of them. If you have been struggling with creating content which people believe not to be of optimum quality, then this article can change your way of writing.

First, let us know the mistakes writers tend to make which lead to quality issues.

High-Quality Content – Where Writers Tend to Go Wrong

Check out some of the things you might be doing that are leading to a compromise on writing quality.

Trying to Finish Off Task Too Soon

We all have deadlines to meet in a day or week. There are commitments at home too. At times, there is an urge to rush with things and finish off tasks as soon as we can. This is where the problem occurs.

Content writers trying to finish off tasks soon tend to leave behind some quality issues. These can be in the form of –

  • Fluff content/lines to quickly meet the word count.
  • Repetitive sentences that offer no value
  • Spelling and grammatical errors
  • Lack of proper research, as a result, the content does not offer information
  • It is not engaging¬†
  • There can be plagiarism issues as well.

Being Too Lazy and Researching Less

Now, at times you might get topics on which you believe you have enough knowledge. You might have written similar articles in the past or you have read a lot. Thus, with so much confidence, you become a bit lazy and you do not research as much as you should.

Now, what are some of the topics, writers tend to write without doing much research:

  • News articles on latest events – for example, the raging Pandemic
  • Articles that are of special interest like – beauty, styling, health, fitness

Now, what happens if the writer becomes too lazy and does not research as needed?

  • You may not write the updated or latest news because you are not aware
  • There might not be adequate information
  • You will just write your own perspective/in your beliefs
  • It might not be accurate
  • There might be incomplete information. You might not be using the right words

Going Off-Topic

I have seen many writers just going off the topic. In a bit to write and fill up space, they keep on writing anything that comes to mind.

No, never do that. Your readers will come to your article to find something useful. When they find that you are going off-topic, they might lose interest.

Writing Fluff to Meet Word Count

Going off-topic is related to writing fluff. Do not write anything that is not useful. Once you have written some content, check to see if it is useful.

Anything which can be deleted and the quality of the article is not affected is fluff.

Writing Something That Does Not Offer Value to The Readers

Whatever you write should be useful for your readers. It should offer them advice or value for which they have come to the blog.

Content is Plagiarised – It has phrases or sentences copied from a similar article

Plagiarized content is a crime.

Never copy what someone else writes. Simply write in your own words and in your own way. You might not be able to write the best content, but it will be original and Google values original content.

It Has Grammar and Spelling Issues

Any piece of content which has grammar and spelling mistakes is certainly not of the best quality. Thus, before you submit your article, do not forget to check it for grammar and spelling mistakes. There are many online tools available that will help you in checking the spelling and grammar of your articles.

Okay, so these were some of the things which you are NOT supposed to do!

How do you write high-quality content?

  • Spend Time on Topic Selection
  • Researching Time is Necessary
  • Use your Own Perspective
  • Add your Experiences, Opinion if Possible
  • Format your Article Correctly
  • Review your Article
  • Check for Plagiarism
  • Keep a Watch On Content Performance

Now that you know what high-quality content is, I’ll provide you some tips to ease your writing.

Unusual Tips To Write High-Quality Content

Writing high-quality content for your project is never a rocket-science. If you do not have to think twice about Grammar or sentence construction, you will be able to write content that is engaging, useful, and valuable.

From my experience, I can suggest tips that can help you develop content that offers great value to your readers. I have tried these many times and have found them quite useful.

So, here is all that you need to do – yes, these are unusual. In case, you find them odd – Well, why not give it a try? You are not going to lose anything.

Write in Intervals or Batches

So, we all know that long-form content is what search engines need now. If you are a blogger, you will have a posting schedule that you must be following.

In case you do not know, a posting schedule is a routine that bloggers should ideally follow. For instance, I can plan to post on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, and 30th of every month. This means it’s an interval of 5 days.

Now, why this interval? If you write in intervals, you will not get bored. It is always good to write with a fresh mind and if you do that continuously, you might just face writer’s block. Why let it arise?

Start Your Own Introduction

I have seen content writers, trying to copy even introductions from other articles or blogs?

But why? What is the need?

If you are a writer, you should be able to start the introduction to the article all by yourself. Why would you depend on others for it? Add your personal thoughts, experiences, and views in the introduction. It will definitely give the article a new look.

Use your Own Format

Never copy the format of other articles. If you are writing a bunch of articles ( especially if you have your own blog), try to bring a change in the format.

Do not write big paragraphs or the same kind of format in all your blogs. Bring a change in how your blogs look

  • Insert images
  • Use bullet points
  • Use tables
  • Write in small paragraphs
  • Use charts
  • Use different fonts to highlight some times

Write with Examples – Real Life Stories

We all love real-life stories. So, whenever you are writing any content, take time to include real life examples, stories, experiences, case studies.

This will make the blog interesting and realistic. It will not be just another blog.

Do not Keep Watch on the Word Count

Oh yes, something all content writers are quite cautious about.

If you are into content writing you will agree –

  • Sometimes we write and stretch an article to meet a certain word count
  • Many times we end an article abruptly because we have met the word count and we believe our job is done.

No, do not do this – it is not good practice.
